First time with us?

Welcome to the Spokane Salvation Army Citadel Corps in Spokane, WA, where we provide a dynamic worship, prayer and a practical message that will connect with your life.  We rely on the powerful presence of the spirit of God to direct our time together so that as we corporately surrender to the will of God, we will individually be changed and renewed by His Spirit.  Church ought to be fun and life changing.  The wonderful thing about Jesus is that He never leaves us the same as we spend time in His presence.

We believe everyone has a place and a role in the Kingdom of God and, as such, there are many opportunities to worship, praise and serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as a family.  We are blessed with people from all ages and walks of life who add to our church family story and are living examples of the love of God and our love towards people.

We love our church family and we sincerely hope that you will make this your church home, too!

Our worship time on Sunday includes...

  • Worship Service @ 9:45 AM
  • Sunday School for all ages @ 11 AM
  • Marshallese Worship Service @ 5:30 PM

We are located at 222 E. Indiana Ave., Spokane, WA 99207

Thank You!

Below are some commonly asked questions answered that we hope will be of help to you.  For more information, please contact the church office at (509) 325-6810.

What About My Children During Worship and the Service?

We invite our children (ages 5-11) to join with us during the worship time at 9:45 AM and then they will be dismissed to junior church before teaching time.  An usher can help you find your child’s room.  A nursery is also provided for infants and children up to 4 years of age.

Do You Have Sunday School for Children and Adults?

At 11 AM, following the morning service, we have a variety of classes for all ages:

  • Adults (ages, 18 and up)
  • Teens (grades, 7-12)
  • Pre-Teen (grades, 3-6)
  • Youth (grades, K-2)
  • Pre-K (Pre-school)

What Type of Music Do You Play During a Typical Worship Service?

We have a variety of talented musicians that use their God-given gifts to glorify the Lord with song. Many play in our brass band that serves like a church organ in support of our hymns and providing special music selection. In the same service we also enjoy contemporary worship which include a grand piano, drums, and guitars. We strive to make every song we sing one with meaningful lyrics to lead us in worship.

How Should I Dress For Church?

You will find some people dressed in Salvation Army uniform, you will find some in their “Sunday best”, with suits and ties, and others in jeans and tees. We care about the heart, not what you wear!

Where Do I Park?

We have ample street parking, as well as parking in the lot off Lidgerwood Street.  Please come a few minutes early to get a good parking space.

What We Believe

The Salvation Army's eleven articles of faith reflect our determination to remain faithful to our standards and principles.

  1. We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments were given by inspiration of God, and that they only constitute the Divine rule of Christian faith and practice.
  2. We believe that there is only one God, who is infinitely perfect, the Creator, Preserver, and Governor of all things, and who is the only proper object of religious worship.
  3. We believe that there are three persons in the Godhead – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, undivided in essence and co-equal in power and glory.
  4. We believe that in the person of Jesus Christ the Divine and human natures are united, so that He is truly and properly God and truly and properly man.
  5. We believe that our first parents were created in a state of innocency, but by their disobedience, they lost their purity and happiness, and that in consequence of their fall, all men have become sinners, totally depraved, and as such are justly exposed to the wrath of God.
  6. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has by His suffering and death made an atonement for the whole world so that whosoever will may be saved.
  7. We believe that repentance toward God, faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and regeneration by the Holy Spirit are necessary to salvation.
  8. We believe that we are justified by grace through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and that he that believeth hath the witness in himself.
  9. We believe that continuance in a state of salvation depends upon continued obedient faith in Christ.
  10. We believe that it is the privilege of all believers to be wholly sanctified, and that their whole spirit and soul and body may be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  11. We believe in the immortality of the soul, the resurrection of the body, in the general judgment at the end of the world, in the eternal happiness of the righteous, and in the endless punishment of the wicked.
